MY EXPERIENCE

01 (Volunteer)
Kaiser Permanente
This program aims to provide physical therapy, and massage treatments for patients. I was able to serve as a good communication channel between patients and nurses when the staff were busy. From this, I learned how to communicate with patients to understand their feelings and encourage positive thinking practices. During my time, I gained familiarity with followed protocol when ordering and delivering food and beverages.
02 (Volunteer)
Aggie Compass: "Fruit and Veggies Up!"
The goal of this volunteer opportunity was to provide some limited fresh produce, such as vegetables and fruits, for students to improve food insecurity and reduce financial burden temporarily. It involved the preparation of food distribution, food distribution, and clean-up after food distribution.


03 (Internship)
Team Davis "Good Food Garden"
GFG aims to provide nutrition education to our community, especially those who are differently-abled. Every two weeks, we will hold a nutrition lesson to share/teach participants fundamental nutrition knowledge, such as the difference between animal-based and plant proteins.

Ambulatory Care Clinical Experience
Napa State Hospital is one of the governmental hospitals in California. The patient population includes Lanterman-Petris-Short, Incompetent to Stand Trail, Offenders with Mental Health Disorders, mentally Ill Prisoners transferred from CDCR, Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, and Sexually Violent Predators.

Women's Health/Pediatrcs
Delta Health Care (DHC) WIC is one of the governmental programs which offers health, nutrition, wellness, breastfeeding support, nutrition education, health education, and outreach services to underserved families, women, adolescents, children, and individuals in San Joaquin County
06 (SUPERVISED CLINICAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE)
Wellness, Innovative Nutrition Practice
During my wellness rotation, I delivered nutrition education and anthropometric measurements on stroke and DASH diet to clients and developed educational materials and presentations to enhance clients’ health literacy skills. Additionally, I engaged in at least five nutrition-focused webinars to enrich clients' learning experiences.


07 (SUPERVISED CLINICAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE)
Skyline Healthcare Center, located in San Jose, is a nursing home with over 200 residents. It specializes in providing skilled nursing care (short-term and long-term), rehabilitation services, dietetic support, and social services for its residents.
